Katy, you wrote a very good post. Of course, who knew that today would bring the stunning news that Dede Scazzafava has suspended her campaign, dropped out of the contest. Doug Hoffman's chances are looking better and better. If he wins it will be a confirmation that Reagan Republicans and assorted conservatives in America should keep on sticking to their principles.

We have to continue to stand on principles and not yield again, ever, to the deal-makers of the Republican National Party "powers-that-be", who gave us McCain (Obama light) for a presidential candidate in 2008 and a liberal, pro-choice, Acorn supported liberal Dede Scazzafava for the Republican candidate in NY-23 in 2009. Sticking to Reagan Republican principles (read Sarah Palin, Dick Armey, George Pataki, and Tim Paulenty, and all the other brave Republicans who stuck their necks out and endorsed and sent money to Hoffman) has paid off today for the Tea Party movement.

The big loser today? Newt Gengrich--Chief Deal-Maker and Chief Pragmatist of the GOP. A message to Newt: Forget it. The kind of stuff you're trying to sell just doesn't have a market anymore.

Amen! I was truly disappointed in Newt. I understand that everyone cannot be a conservative, but everyone in Congress shouldn't be a liberal either. We need to regain our foothold in Congress.

It is all about principles, it's about standing on principles (the Founders' principles).
