I totally understand where you are coming from! I have a 10 year old daughter in 5th grade, a kindergardner, and pre-schooler coming up. My daughter went to a private christian school until she started third grade then I made the switch. Sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing. And of course with the two boys I can't afford the private school anymore. My vote is still out on my public school kindergarden experience. The one thing I don't understand about it is why they choose to use "sight" words instead of teaching the children to sound out words using phonics. My husband had to teach my son how to do that. I believe children could learn more complex things at a younger age. I also believe that if someone wants to be a teacher that person MUST love and want children to learn, if they do not, that person should find another line of work. I have often thought about getting involved in the school system in this community, but I don't know where to start. I do not think you are a loon in thinking that the children of this country are being "dumbed down", I believe that is happening too. At this point I think they are trying to "dumb down" all of us.

Mommaagoincrazy3,

We are happy to have you join SGP. I'm Julia, the Regional Coordinator for the Southeast, and we would love to have you join us on the Southeast Group, too, for regional discussions and the chance to meet other women from your general area of the Country.

I see that you have joined the TN State Page, for local and Statewide discussions. They will be most happy to add your voice to theirs.

Also, check the main page for Tax Day Tea Party information of where TN will have their statewide protests...we need lots of voice, so DC can hear us, loud and strong!!!

Just curious...how did you hear about SGP? You will find many like minded conservative women here, and it is a refreshing thing, indeed.

I just wanted to say hello, and please let me know if you have any questions.

SGP Southeast Regional Coordinator

Hi!

Welcome to SGP! If you have not already joined the SE Regional group, I would encourage you to do so. The director of that group is Julia Hodges. She is off line at the moment, but will be back on SGP in a few days! If there is anything that I can do for you, please let me know. I think that you will enjoy your interaction on SGP. It is great to know that there are other like-minded women across the country.

A letter to Obama

I received this email and thought I would share it :)

Subject: WOW....WHAT A LETTER !!

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington , DC 20500

Mr. Obama:

I have had it with you and your administration,
sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me
that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of
America collectively or of me personally.

You are so obsessed with appeasing the
Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the
responsib… Continue

Obama laying groundwork for 3rd term?

I know that this may sound like a conspiracy theory, but it would at least be worth it to keep an eye on this...what do you think?

Limbaugh: Obama Laying Groundwork for Third Term

By: Rick Pedraza

Rush Limbaugh is suggesting that President Barack Obama and his political operatives already are laying the groundwork for a third term.

“You have to wonder if Obama is just trying to lay a foundation for not being a hypocrite when he tries to serve beyond 2016,… Continue

Good day to all! I have not posted in a while but I wanted to share the email from my Congressman Bart Gordon. I hope that all those in Tennessee will let Bart Gordon that he is going to lose his seat come the election due to his lack of listening to the people. States Rights Fight 2009

On the heel of discussing HR-45, I now know of 3 States that may get alot more folks living there. It is rumored that there are a total of 11 states that are fighting for their rights under the Constitutional Amendment 10. The 3 States I do know about are Montana, Texas and Utah. Montana has passed throught their State Legislature a bill that states that if a gun is manufactured in Montana and the ammunition is manufactured in Montana and it doesn't cross state lines then the Federal Government… Continue
