Stop Reaching Back to the Future

As I sit and watch more fancy dancing by the current Administration, it occurs to me that all this reaching “back to the future” by Obama and his crew has got to stop. It is not now, nor has it ever been a proper and democratic policy to persecute (or nullify) something today, that was ok yesterday, which you are no longer doing. WTF? How is this reasonable or frankly, even legal? This Administration started out being all about going “back to the future” for all sorts of reasons. It seems, now t… Continue

Their Opinion is Irrelevant

I went to a Tea Party this week; one of over 805 in fact. It was a peaceful demonstration against waste, out-of-control spending and over the top growth of governement-all of which must be stopped.

It was a lot of things.....

Welcome to Cry Baby Washington

Ugh, first it is Gibbs who consistently acts like a 9 year old girl in the school yard when reporters dare question the Messiah Obama. Now, we have Obama himself calling reporters to say "Hey, I didn't start it, he did!" .....continued

Conservatism, Politicking and Sweet, Sweet Tea.

"We are on strike, we the men of the mind. We are on strike against self-immolation. We are on strike against the creed of unearned rewards and unrewarded duties.”-John Galt “Atlas Shrugged

Sometime last year I decided I had had enough. I decided it was time to get involved, no longer sitting on the sidelines letting politics happen to me. So Friday, among the zillions of other small things I am doing to be more productive in politics, I had the opportunity to participate in a re… Continue

Votes? We count ‘em all twice-right??

States, Judges and stupid legal maneuvers have been re-writing laws and discarding the vote of the people since the beginning of time, but 2008 may go down as allowing the most blatantly egregious crimes against the democratic process yet. These groups forget, while a vote taken may not turn out in your favor, voting is based on majority say. While that means some will not get the outcome they want, this is simply the way of a democracy. Perhaps the most outrageous examples of the violation of t… Continue

hey Michelle, suecola sent me here. I'm in O'Fallon Missouri and just wanted to let people know that every saturday from 12-2pm there is a group of ordinary citizens that gather at the intersection of HWY. K and N in O'Fallon. The numbers can sometimes reach 300. I am a teacher in one of the largest school districts in St. Charles County and am trying to organize a group of conservative teachers to join SGP and attend the weekly rallies. The rallies have been going on every Saturday since March and will continue until something changes in our Government. If there are teachers out there in our area interested in getting a group together, please let me know. I know how difficult it can be to be conservative in a liberal climate. Thanks for your help!

Michelle, love the new looks on SGP and Smart Girl Nation. Although I do miss the polka dots. My SGP booth will still have them as I go to the different townhall/tea parties with it! Someday I too will update!

You do so much for SGP. Thanks.

Was that an awesome summit, OR WHAT?! Would love to get our group in St. Louis together on a more regular basis. Any ideas? Was thinking about starting a book club and perhaps meet every other month...something that is social, but also something that has a purpose toward our agenda. I thought there was a link somewhere here to specifically access the MO group, maybe I'm missing it?

Hope to see you Tuesday at the Honduran grocery...

Hi Michelle:

I am a new member of SGP, but am interested in possible being the Nebraska coordinator. I would like more info on the job. Anything you can tell me will be most helpful.

I am planning on attending a town hall in Omaha for Lee Terry on August 25, and will try to arrange to meet with him in person when I am in Washington for the march on Sept. 12. If you are going to be in DC for the march, I would also love to meet you and discuss SGP and what we can all do to be more involved in this process.

Look forward to hearing from you,
Cassie
