It strikes me often as odd that people do not understand the meaning of fascism. We've all heard the word thrown around often during the Bush Administration. To some extent, that description may have even been extremely apt for Bush... after all, the man was a social and economic "progressive." It has come to my attention today that Barack Obama and his supporters are referencing John Adams' comments in the Treaty of Tripoli (1796) to define that America is not, officially, a Judeo-Christian nation. While I may agree that we are not officially a Judeo-Christian nation because the government says so, I will argue that this conclusion is otherwise a misconception.
