This year no gifts for liberal family members and friends, instead...

This year I won't be giving gifts to my liberal family and friends, instead I'm making a donation in each of their names to a Conservative candidate running for office in 2010. I'll make sure it's a candidate in their geographical district. Then I'll send a nice little patriotic Christmas card telling them this Christmas, in the interest of preserving their freedom, that I made a donation in their name to the Conservative candidate running for ___________ office in their district.

Their young o… Continue

Tea Party Activist Running for Office (If this guy doesn't get you excited then you're not really a Conservative!)

Paul Curtman. Remember him? This young military man stood up and gave Claire McCaskill a wake up call at her town hall asking for an apology from her for backing UNCONSTITUTIONAL legislation. He was awesome! Paul at the town hall.

Now he's running for office. Check out his speech at the Independence Day Tea Party in St. Louis. Every, every, every American needs to hear what he is saying.… Continue

Can Independents and Conservative save the Republican Party?

Dana Loesch is a Tea Party Activist, mommy, and blogger. She has been at the forefront of this movement.

She and Bill Whittle of PJTV address a very important conversation (maybe the most important) that needs to be promoted here and across the country in order for all our grassroots efforts to materialize in to the best case scenario: a resurrection of TRUE Conservatism in the Republican party.

This video is a great starter and a valuable exchange of ideas. All of 11 minutes its well worth it… Continue

Are you on Facebook and LinkedIn?

I would like to connect with you there also. I am trying to make more friends and fans so that I can spread awareness for breast cancer during pregnancy. I was diagnosed Stage 3 in the 5th month of my pregnancy in May. My status updates on Facebook and LinkedIn are usually about my fight.

First, I would like to thank you for your efforts to address the problems we have with our government. I am thankful for every single person who is paying attention to what is going on. I am sending you this message to ask for your help. I have set up a website for two reasons. First, to educate those who are not aware of some of the issues we are faced with, and second....most importantly..to offer a solution which will allow us to correct ALL the problems we have with government and not just one or two. The web site is www.americanvote.info. I have included an article on health care, one on cap and trade, and the solution is in the Manifesto. The critical news contains recent updates and additional areas of concern. I would suggest the articles be read in that order for continuity. My request is that you read it over and, if you agree with me, that you send the web address to anyone...family, friends, anyone who is a concerned citizen. If you can help get the link out via twitter, facebook, myspace or any other communication site it will help greatly. I am trying to get this to as many people as possible as soon as possible. All of us need to act or I fear it could be too late by the time we wake up enough people to what is going on. I must point out that the cap and trade article appears to be getting skipped by some readers. That is a mistake because it contains a "wealth" of info on what we are up against and who is behind it. To fully understand the importance of the solution outlined in the manifesto you need to read that first. I thank you in advance for your time. My best wishes for you and the future of the country we love. Paul
ps. I have now added three new articles and again they are best read in order, as I write with the presumption you understand what I have explained in previous articles....new: "State of the Union", "Regarding Liberty" and "Their Plan". I also added the mission statement to make it clear what VOA intends. I have been told by those who have read the entire site that I have understated the importance of what is posted. I will let you be the judge of that. It is a rather long read, but it is loaded. I would appreciate you comments. You can sign the guestbook on the site or you can message me here. I listed a new article today. It is titled...JOHN GALT ..it is written to the liberal minded. And..I would welcome your feedback on the site.Best regards, Paul

One friend on this site reminded me how easy it is to be difficult when you are annonomous and I think that is very true. It is much easier to name call or attack someone on a computer than if you are having coffee with them. I imagine as you did, I will also learn. thanks for the lift.

Thanks for the excellent advice. I will try to do that. I do not even like name calling of politicans, news folks or anyone for that matter. I am learning how to handle myself better--blogging is new to me although I have been a researcher all my life (history undergrad) and interested in politics most of my life. I read an awful lot and I watch all the news channels and I read both conservative and liberal and moderate. I think it is important to do that. Anyhow, thanks alot.

I have actually been attacked several times in the past by certain people because I question things and also I often post a counter argument or actual facts which apparently for some folks it is don't confuse me with facts. The general attack line is that I am a liberal and a troll. I happen to be a moderate on quite a few issues and a conservative on others. But I have found several people who if you are not a hard liner conservative you are fairly worthless in their opinon--worse you are a liberal. But there are more really smart and caring people on here than the other kind; so I try to keep that in mind.

Thank you for your post on credibility. I've had go'rounds with individuals who post opinions or hearsay without links for verification. I've asked when they post information that they add links so we can double check validity.

Welcome to Smart Girl Politics, Gertie. We’re so glad you chose to become a member of our grassroots conservative women’s organization.

The first thing you should do is go to “groups” at the top of the page, and join the SGP California group led by the state coordinator, Bridget Blanton, to find out what’s going on in your state. If you’re ready to do some volunteer work for the 2010 elections, let Bridget know.

You can also join the SGP Southwest group, led by Ashley Sewell, to get your regional updates and information. If you see any other group that interests you, feel free to join them as well.

You can customize your page and settings, add pictures, and much more, by going to “my page”. And please feel free to post blogs, and write comments. We want your input and ideas, so just jump right in. It’s good to check the main page regularly for special news and bulletins.

Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions, and I would love to know how you heard about SGP.
