She’s starting with a series of the “emergency issues” Governor Perry designated the lawmakers to take up in the first 60 days of session. Comment by Michael Gallops on April 27, 2012 at 11:44pm Hey folks, everyone knows that conservative women are more intelligent and more beautiful than liberal women right? Well here's an incredible opportunity to prove that to the world! Ginny Meerman has been involved with "beauty pageants" for many years as a competitor, director, producer, coach and model - she has a vision for a 3 day Conservative Extravaganza that will take place this July - right here in Texas!!
Along with the pageant there will be a ConservaRally with conservative speakers coming from all over the country to participate! There will also be a ConservaBall where we will eat and dance and get to know each other better!
Please take a few minutes to visit the Conserative Extravaganza Facebook page, the Miss Conservative US Pageant Facebook page and website. Share this with your conservative friends. Enter the pageant if you are so inclined - there are categories for all ages!! Make plans to attend the ConservaRally or the ConservaBall - or BOTH!!!
Lot's of liberal pageant people want this to fail - let's help make sure it doesn't!!
The 3 Day Extravaganza FB page is here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/398565403497483/
The Pageant Facebook group is here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ConservativeUSPageant/
More details can be found here: http://conservativeuspageant.com/
Here's the description from the Facebook page:
Conservative U.S. is bringing a 3-day "ConservaGanza" to Dallas, Texas on July 5th-7th, 2012...and you WANT to be there!!!
Day 1 is the "ConservaBall"...conservatives from across the country will join together to celebrate their being what makes this country great! Dinner and dancing...camaraderie and a chance to meet and greet other conservatives while having a great time!!
Day 2 is the "ConservaRally"...featuring Kevin Jackson from Black Sphere Radio, Apostle Claver Kamau-Imani from RagingElephants.org, Actor Gary Graham...and MORE! You DO NOT want to miss this event!!
And Day 3 brings the inaugural Conservative U.S. Pageant...FINALLY, a pageant that highlights strong, multi-talented, and intelligent Conservative American women! Conservative U.S. emphasizes what makes Conservative American women incomparably beautiful…
The Conservative U.S. woman is not a certain dress size (2 or 20, the Conservative woman comes in all shapes and sizes), she is not a certain age (12 or 72, the Conservative woman is an example of the beauty within shining outward), she is not a particular skin color/hair color/eye color (the Conservative woman is the "color" of beautiful)...but what the Conservative U.S. woman IS...fierce, fabulous, faithful, and proud to be an American treasure!
The women of Conservative U.S. share a philosophy that encompasses God-given personal freedoms (with limited government intrusion), morality, a stalwart work ethic and individualism. She believes in God, Country and Family…
She is an American treasure…she is a Conservative U.S. Queen!
These events will be held at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel...special room rates for those attending! Mention "Conservative U.S." when calling to book your room!! 1-972-367-2000

U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison’s announcement Thursday that she won't run again for the seat that she has held since 1993 was not entirely unexpected, but it still has the potential to overturn the state's political apple cart. Already, several prominent pols in both parties have announced their intention to run, and several more are considering it. State lawmakers who are up again in 2012 have a decision to make: They can’t run for reelection and run for Hutchison’s seat at the same time. By contrast, most current statewide officeholders aren’t on the ballot again until 2014, so a run for the U.S. Senate this time would be a free shot. The GOP is favored to retain Hutchison's seat — no Democrat since John Sharp ran unsuccessfully for lieutenant governor in 2002 has won more than 46 percent in a statewide race — so the Republican primary is likely to be the real battle. To separate the would-bes from the could-bes, we’ve created a guide to certain, likely and plausible candidates — as well a few who are plausible only to us here at the Trib.

Comment by Donna Repub on April 17, 2012 at 1:06am Looks like the people running for Senator for Kay Bailey Hutchinson's seat are very interesting folks, 4 of them in debate last week, were David Dewhurst, Tom Lepperd, Ted Cruz, Craig James.
Well Ted Cruz was acting like he was running against David Dewhurst instead of the Senate seat, he was attacking alot, and I don't like those kind of attack dogs.
The ones that stood out to me was, Craig James and David Dewhurst.
so we shall see.
May 29th is the mid election before Nov. 2012 Election.
Blessings Donna
Comment by HM on March 16, 2012 at 3:25pm In a long line in a south Texas liquor store there were both men and women. There were lots of Latinos, a few blacks, at least one Asian and my husband and I, along with a few other, “Winter Texans” who all look as white and mid-western as a ‘50’s sitcom. Person after person came up to the cash registers handed over a credit card to pay for their purchases, and every one of them was asked to show a photo I. D. Guess what? They all did! No drama, no complaints, just show the I. D., run the charge card, pay for the liquor and leave.
If no one gets upset about showing an I.D. to buy liquor, why are certain factions so upset about showing an I.D. to vote? Isn’t voting more important that buying liquor? Shouldn’t we guard our one vote more carefully than our whiskey? See my entire op-ed on this subject, "One Man/One Vote" Dec. 27, 2011 at the butlerblaisdellblog.blogspot.com
