Call your senators, because the House has let us down yet again....Here is another reason to vote out most of these idiots the House...passed a 1300 page bill yesterday that was only presented to them Tuesday...
It is long, but Michelle Bachmann speaks the truth...too late to effect the House, but on to the Senate...there is seriously NO end to this madness!~!~!~!~!~!

Heads up everyone!! Listen to Congresswoman Bachmann's warning...

And Merry Christmas to you, too, Liz! And the first gift of Christmas to all you other Smart Girls is the nomination last night of the FIRST 2010 Republican candidate for US Senate, SCOTT BROWN! He won the nomination by 89%.

As I've said before, he's not the most conservative guy in the country running, but for Mass., it would be such a huge improvement. If the Dem. Martha Coakley walks away with this, Harry Reid will be welcoming his new best friend!

Most of you can't vote here, but please consider helping out this great grassroots campaign with a donation -

Mass. is about 50% Independants who are ready for CHANGE!!!!

Kelly, it's the same in most blue states. The Dems have figured out if you hand out goodies to the large cities, the votes will be for the Dems and it's the large cities that carry the states.

We just have to work that much harder and if a good candidate comes forward in Chicago or the St. Louis area, make sure you and others throw strong support behind him or her to help get them elected.

We have the same problem with the Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport areas in my state. If we can get enough support outside of the cities, the cities won't be able to carry the states as they do now and things will eventually change for the better.

This is a long term fight and won't be accomplished in one or two election cycles, but it is worth fighting for. If we don't continue to fight, we lose our freedoms and become a one party dictatorship which is what we currently have.

Thank you, Gail. You are exactly right. Our tea party groups have started doing exactly what you said and are running as precinct committeemen all across the state. We are going to change the party from the ground up. We are really hoping that this election will be different and that more people are awake to the problems. Unfortunately, Chicago trumps the whole state and they typically vote Dem. If you look at the map of IL after elections, the entire state is red with only blue in the Chicago area and Metro/East St. Louis area. We are not giving up though!

First of all, it was P.Smith who made the mistake of saying Scozzafava was from California. Hey, everyone can make a mistake.

Let's not fight among ourselves; we're all on the same side.

Kelly, I feel your pain. Living in Illinois can't be easy. Your state has had a bad reputation for bad polititicians for a very long time. Personally, I think most politicians are corrupt because we've failed to keep a close watch on them and vote the crooked ones out.

Today, both parties are bad, but the Dems are worse. If you want to change things, you've got to join the RTC in your local area and work to get the Republican party back to it's conservative roots. (Remember, all politics are local).

I've worked with my RTC and we managed to seat all of our strong conservative candidates with some hard work and fun events to raise the money to support them.

I live in a blue state and have been pleasantly surprised to see this grassroots movement spreading here and elsewhere. We are going to take back our party and our state, and hopefully, our federal government. While we're at it, we going to change the party from moderates and Rinos, to conservative, constitution following politicians. If they let us down, we'll replace them.

Gone on the days when we failed to pay attention to what our politicians are doing. We are awake and won't forget what we allowed to happen. Never again!

Suzanne, I never had any facts wrong - I did not mention nor did I discuss Dede. I only spoke about IL and their problems - which is all DEMOCRAT problems. I am a conservative Republican - but it is appalling that I have to justify myself on this forum to someone who is supposed to be on the same side.
Suzanne Cavalier Comment by Suzanne Cavalier on December 5, 2009 at 4:44pm
if u going to post then get your facts straight, Dede from NY 23. so far it is you. You putting down the Repubs by going to all the sites. why don't you go to the DIMocRATs knock them for letting Landreau make the address, and see what they say. No you come here like John McCain, demean the Repubs, think about it. We here in Arizona have had enough of some RINO constantly trashing the repubs but never the dims, and that is what u sound like.

A plant for what? A good one for what? Did I miss something? I'm just trying to have better representation from IL that Dick Durbin and Roland Burris! Is there something wrong with that? I thought this was Smart Girl Politics - not "Tear Each Other Down Politics". I'm definitely NOT a plant for anybody. I'm just someone who is trying to give my children a better future. Could you please explain what I said that made you decide that I'm "not a good one?"
Suzanne Cavalier Comment by Suzanne Cavalier on December 5, 2009 at 4:09pm
I guess Kelly is a plant n not a good one either
