Ohio SGP announcements!

Ohio SGP Meet ups

Many of you have asked me about whether or not the Ohio SGP group has meetings in an actual physical place. Considering we have members from all over the state it's fairly hard to find a mutual meeting place.

So with that in mind I'd like to announce the start of Ohio SGP Meet ups! These groups will allow members in the same area to casually meet up in a public area (Panera Bread, local coffee shops/restaurants, even your local library, et cet) and discuss Ohio politics, candidates, and working on spreading the conservative message in your area. It's also a great way to connect and form new friendships. And feel free to bring friends who aren't SGP members but have an interest in getting involved!

We have many members in certain concentrated areas such as Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and places in between even in little communities like mine! So I'd like to encourage you all to make a post reaching out to those in your area. Figure out a good time and place to meet and I will post the announcement right here!

I will be working on planning a meet up in my area and hope to more popping up as well!

Greetings,

There a number of events scheduled this coming week that we wanted to bring to your attention.

The first one is the Matt Patrick Par-Tea this coming Friday December 11 from 7-9 PM (doors open at 6:30) at the Cuyahoga Falls High School Auditorium, 2300 4th St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH. WHLO talk show Matt Patrick has been a major factor in the massive turnout we have enjoyed at Tea Party's this year, as well as a constant source of information and motivation for local patriots. His contract with WHLO is not being renewed, and this Par-Tea is being hosted in his honor. A full schedule of local dignitaries and celebrities are planned. A suggested donation of $1 at the door will cover the cost of the facility.
Click on the following link for more info: http://www.summit912.org/index.php/local-news/27-local-news/321-support-matt-patrick-par-tea.

On Saturday December 12 we will be hosting our last public forum breakfast of the year at the Golden Corral Restaurant at 4913 Grande Blvd. in Medina, from 8:30-10AM (see attached flyer). Guest Speaker will be Jason Meade, who is running for Congress in the 13th Congressional District (northern Medina County) against Betty Sutton. An update is also planned on the effort to get a State Sovereignty constitutional amendment on the ballot, and anyone who has not had an opportunity to sign the petition yet are encouraged to come and do so. We encourage people to arrive to eat a little bit early to leave maximum elbow room during the program. There will not be a breakfast meeting on the 4th Saturday this month (the day after Christmas), and will resume on the 2nd & 4th Saturday on January 9, 2010. MCFAN volunteers will also be manning a table at the Medina County Gun Show in the Community Center at the Fairgrounds all weekend.

What may be the most important single meeting of the week is scheduled for Monday December 14 from 7-9 at the University of Akron on Precinct Activism. This two hour long course is presented by Warren Edstrom of Columbus and Peter Wolf of Cincinnati, and was previewed by the North East Ohio Conservative Council (NEOCC). Our top priority in 2010 is to throw a lot of bums out of office. Our opponents top priority is to keep them in office. Who wins will be decided by whichever side is most effective at grassroots organizing, right down to the precinct level. If you cannot attend this event, review the materials available on our website or the materials provided by Warren and Peter on their website, www.TheVoicesOfAmerica.org. We will try to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to learn the skills of precinct organizing.

Also on Monday the Wooster 9.12 group is showing a video about the threat of the New Missile Age and the remarkably successful If You Believe group will be hosting a meeting in Norwalk. The Cleveland Tea Party is organizing a bus trip to DC to arrive on Tuesday December 15 and return that night; carpoolers are also encouraged for what may be the final confrontation of the year between voters and their Senators struggling with Nationalized Health Care. On Tuesday our affiliate the Children of Liberty in Toledo will be hosting their last meeting of the year. More info on each of these is available on the Calendar of Medina We Surround Them, also accessible through the Announcements tab on our web site. We encourage our supporters to support other groups whenever convenient, and to let them know that we support them.

Last but not least will be our MCFAN Christmas Party & Tea Party Tuesday, Dec. 15th. It has been a busy year so please join us in celebration and relaxation any time between 6:00pm to 10:00pm at Oscar's Pub, 2860 Medina Rd. Medina, 330-721-8888 (Route 18 by I-71.)

A year ago our update came out once every two weeks to remind people of our next public forum breakfast. We were alone. Now, a year later, We Are Surrounded. With your support we have exceeded our most optimistic expectations, under circumstances that were beyond our wildest fears. But there is much work to do; over 45% of the population still approves of the job the White House is doing. Clearly, there are still too many people getting their news from MSNBC instead of Fox, and being influenced by Obama's precinct workers instead of ours.ACORN instead of MCFAN. We need to fix that. With your help, we will.

I am posting this call to action because it appears that our attacks on the US congress are being ignored. Perhaps we have misdirected our efforts by going after congress. The federal government derives its power from the states. Our government works from the bottom up. It is becoming apparent that we need to pressure not the congress but the state legislature and the governors.

We at VOA are suggesting a new attack on the state level where I suspect they will be more likley to listen. Dick Morris has previously released figures on the large state tax increases that will be needed in the states to support healthcare. It would be political poison for state officials. So, they have an added reason to listen to our pressures. They are also closer to home and more likley to feel our pressures.

My suggestion is to use nullification by the states. It is too long to post here, so I have posted it on our web site at www.americanvote.info The article titled "A CALL TO ACTION" is where it is found.

I am asking the tea party group leaders in each state to initiate this within you group and your state. Members can get friends to sign petitions. Even people who are not active in the fight but want to stop this bill can get behind this. If we get even half of the states to nullify, the bill...and others are dead. They cannot support them if the states refuse to comply.

We need activists in every state to push this. Several states are already trying to re-exert state sovereignty. This will show our support for just that. I ask all, individuals and groups alike to join in this effort. Letters, faxes, petititons, every thing we did to congress and more so. We need your help guys.

NE Ohio Holiday update,

Greetings,

We wanted to make sure you knew about some upcoming events. First of all is our public forum breakfast this Saturday morning, with U.S. Senate candidate Tom Ganley as our guest speaker. He is the one who you may have seen advertising on Fox this past week. The following Tuesday, December 1 is the 2nd Tea Party Tuesday. This one has been scheduled by the Akron Tea Party (Summit 9.12) , a social hour for Tea Party veterans from Summit, Medina and surrounding counties; this one will be at the On Tap in Montrose. The following Thursday, December 3 we will be holding a Steering Committee meeting at Donato's on North Court Street in Medina from 7-9 PM; this is an excellent opportunity to help shape our plans for 2010 and to get involved in making them happen. Go through our website Announcements page http://mcfan.org/announcements.aspx or to the Calendar on Medina We Surround Them for additional details on all these events, or for a look at events further in the future.

Those of you who have been unable to sign the State Sovereignty constitutional amendment as of yet may wish to do so at this Saturday's breakfast. We are closing in on the number of signatures needed with strong support for this effort from North East Ohio and especially strong support from Medina County. Good job!

At this time we are planning to not have a breakfast on the 4th Saturday in December, as it is the day after Christmas.

It has been a tempestuous year, marked by the President of our country telling the world that we are no longer a Christian nation. Several of our people have been so kind as to send us this scripture which strikes us as especially timely:

If my people, which are called by my name,

shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and repent;

then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.

Chronicles 7:14.

Thank you all for all that you have done this year. Let us enjoy these moments of reprieve from the storm to enjoy the company of loved ones, and to give thanks to our Lord.

Greetings,

What do we do now that the Senate votes 60-39 to begin debate on the consolidated version of the Nationalized Health Care bill? In spite of all of our efforts.

We need to step back and look at our original objective. This year was a delaying action, a year spent on defense. All the checks and balances that have preserved our country for over two hundred years were neutralized by the combination of a single party government, a hung Supreme Court, a radical left media dominating our channels of information, and a host of radicals being appointed to executive level positions in our government without the need for Senate confirmation. Those few appointees that did need and received Senate confirmation, such as Attorney General Holder, were not men of independent stature and integrity that would enforce the Constitution against their own colleagues. Against these impossible odds, we have exceeded beyond our wildest imagination. In the past six months we have come within a few votes of winning in every major battle. In the past six months, the radicals have put everything they have behind passing Cap and Trade and Nationalized Health Care into law. We have denied them that victory. George Washington would be impressed.

2009 was just the year that we had to fight off the alligators. If we have to swat an alligator again it will be a temporary diversion from our primary objective. In 2010 we will go on offense, and drain the swamp. We need to focus on changing the political landscape, and change the balance of forces. That means we have to continue educating the public, building our numbers, building our capabilities and mobilizing a grassroots organization that can Get Out The Vote (GOTV).

We will be promoting a number of different events and activities in the future, and encouraging everyone to participate. But we are now less than a year from the next General Election, and it will be in that election that the fate of our nation will be decided. If you want to get a head start on the year ahead, request a precinct map and a "walking list" of registered voters in your precinct from your County Board of Education. It's time to get to know your neighbors, and to make sure they vote in 2010.

This coming week, enjoy your Thanksgiving. We have much to be thankful for, and it is good to set aside the concerns of this world in order to give thanks to our Creator.

All the news I could find about Matt Patrick leaving has been very general. Does anyone know if there is more to it than the official statement?
Lisa Woods Comment by Lisa Woods on November 15, 2009 at 12:42pm
That really ticks me off. Matt Patrick had become my number one source for local political news. Nothing compares.

HERE WE GO!!! They are trying to shut down conservative Talk Radio! They are starting small... here in Akron with 640AM- WHLO's Matt Patrick http://www.summit912.org/index.php/local-news-2/save-matt-patrick
and now with 570AM-KVI's Kirby Wilbur in Seattle, WA. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=116027
There may be more I am not familiar with. They are starting small- and will work their way up to Glenn, Rush, Hannity, etc.
Who needs legislation? They will just bully stations slowly to silence them.
Keep an eye on this, girls....
