From AFP's website: In a few short days President Barack Obama will go to Copenhagen, Denmark for the United Nations Climate Change Conference. No doubt, the President intends to commit the United States to an energy rationing scheme that makes the U.S. accountable to U.N. bureaucrats, kills jobs here, dramatically raises the price of gasoline and electricity, and infringes on our personal and national freedoms.

SGP NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE November 1st, 2009

On November 1st, 1872 Susan B. Anthony entered a voter registration office in Rochester, NY and refused to leave unless she was allowed to register to vote. Days later, on November 5th, Anthony cast a ballot for U.S. Grant and other Republicans for their supportive stance on Women’s Suffrage. A complaint charging Anthony with casting an illegal vote was filed by Democrat poll watcher Sylvester Lewis resulting in Anthony’s arrest, subsequent criminal trial and guilty verdict. In commemoration of the bravery of Susan B. Anthony and her unrelenting insistence to be allowed to register to vote, SGP has launched a nation-wide voter registration drive taking place on November 1st, 2009...more info in the discussion forum.. Comment by Edward Fertik on December 18, 2009 at 7:34am: Although I live in New York near the western border with Massachussetts I joined this group because of the issue of terrorists being transferred to your state for no intelligent reason and I think that doing so may be a violation of the POSSE COMITATUS ACT 18 U.S.C. section 1385 of June 18, 1878. This law severly limits the use of federal forces for law enforcement or to maintain law and order on non federal property within the U.S. I don't know if the prison is state or federal but it would be good to know. I don't know how the military would be used inside AND OUTSIDE the facility during this period but it should be watched carefully. I'm sure the military would even appreciate not being dragged into this in Illonois. SGP should get feisty on this issue in Illonois with possible legal challenges. I'm sure members would make contributions for a legal battle.

Comment by Kelly Jones on December 15, 2009 at 3:39pm: OMGoodness! Sorry to send another message but I thought we all needed to hear the conversation that I just had with Gov. Quinn's office. First I asked where in the Constitution was there an exclusion for these prisoners to NOT get our Constitutional rights? They could not respond. Then I asked why they didn't ask the people how they felt, is this a dictatorship and the people don't have a say? The man replied "you will have a say next November!" My head almost flew off my shoulders! It will be my full-time job to educate people on how this government is taking over and how "we the people" don't really have a say about anything anymore. It is time for more people to wake up and stop this madness!

If you are in the northern part of the state - PLEASE try to attend this rally. Quinn's office said that the December 22nd Public Hearing will determine if this transfer will happen. I suppose that hearing from the people does NOT count and we are just the minnions serving the elite! Once these prisoners hit American soil, they will get FULL Constitutional rights (there is NO exclusion for them in our Constitution - that is why they were held offshore). We must stand up and fight this. Think about if these prisoners get off on some technicality or have a mistrial because they were waterboarded? Do you want them in your neighborhood??

Quinn met to "seal the deal" on the Thomson Prison, and to bring the Gitmo detainees to our soil. Oathkeepers want us to remember the names of Durbin and Quinn who sold us out, when it comes election time.

Comment by Kelly Jones on December 14, 2009 at 11:07pm: Also, I want to encourage all SGP's in Illinois to look at Judge Don Lowery for U.S. Senate. I have volunteered my time to help get the word out on him. He is the strongest candidate that is running to go to DC and fight to stop this madness. He is a decorated Vietnam vet, a retired judge of 26 years - serving this country and our Constitution is what he has done his ENTIRE life. Lowery's name will be the first one on the ballot! Kirk is a RINO at best - he has voted for Cap & Trade, wrote legislation against the 2nd amendment, voted with Obama on partial birth abortion. Hughes has NO experience what-so-ever, every tea party event that he has been at, he bolts out the door and won't stay to talk with the attendees. My feeling is, if he can't give me the time of day when he's asking for my vote, what will he do when he actually gets it? Besides the fact that he never took the time to even go to the voting booth until 2004. We really need to look hard at all of the candidates and not just take things at face value. This primary vote for us is crucial! We need the strongest candidate with the proven record and best resume to go head to head with the Dems in the general. Otherwise, we will be in the same boat that we are in right now. Don't take my word for it, educate yourselves!

There is NO Constitutional exclusion for these prisoners. There is a rally/protest organized on the 22nd. When I get further details, I will definitely post them!
