The fault of homeschoolers? Where in Heaven's name was MI's DHS?

Was it not in Michigan where DHS "discovered" (as if they'd been hiding...) one family allowing the child of their neighbor to wait for the bus in their home. Whereupon they "cited" the friendly neighbor for illegally operating a "day care..."?

So why is it that DHS did not have time to look after the girl in the fire?

The lack of common sense, discretion and priorities speaks volumes to the failure of yet another arm of government.

Indict the innocent and accomodate the guilty.

I am posting this call to action because it appears that our attacks on the US congress are being ignored. Perhaps we have misdirected our efforts by going after congress. The federal government derives its power from the states. Our government works from the bottom up. It is becoming apparent that we need to pressure not the congress but the state legislature and the governors.

We at VOA are suggesting a new attack on the state level where I suspect they will be more likley to listen. Dick Morris has previously released figures on the large state tax increases that will be needed in the states to support healthcare. It would be political poison for state officials. So, they have an added reason to listen to our pressures. They are also closer to home and more likley to feel our pressures.

My suggestion is to use nullification by the states. It is too long to post here, so I have posted it on our web site at www.americanvote.info The article titled "A CALL TO ACTION" is where it is found.

I am asking the tea party group leaders in each state to initiate this within you group and your state. Members can get friends to sign petitions. Even people who are not active in the fight but want to stop this bill can get behind this. If we get even half of the states to nullify, the bill...and others are dead. They cannot support them if the states refuse to comply.

We need activists in every state to push this. Several states are already trying to re-exert state sovereignty. This will show our support for just that. I ask all, individuals and groups alike to join in this effort. Letters, faxes, petititons, every thing we did to congress and more so. We need your help guys.

Attention home school parents: I just saw the US Army field band in concert.
If you can find where they are playing, don't miss them---it's flat out excellent music from all genres of the art form.

Additionally, they are keen on helping educators, and have CD's and curriculum designed specifically for education.

They have a web site where you can access their great music and their services: www.armyfieldband.com

James Hyde posted on the wire of the group "The RIGHT Movement":

"Faith brought it to my attention. It comes from the Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee.

It's a press release. Please disseminate this post to as many people as you can. It is critical that people know about this. If you don't have medical insurance, you could wind up in jail for FIVE (5) years:

PELOSI: Buy a $15,000 Policy or Go to Jail
JCT Confirms Failure to Comply with Democrats’ Mandate Can Lead to 5 Years in Jail
Friday, November 06, 2009

Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.

In response to the JCT letter, Camp said: “This is the ultimate example of the Democrats’ command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail. It is outrageous and it should be stopped immediately.”

Key excerpts from the JCT letter appear below:

“H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.” [page 1]

- - - - - - - - - -

“If the government determines that the taxpayer’s unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties could apply…” [page 2]

- - - - - - - - - -

“Criminal penalties

Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:

• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]

When confronted with this same issue during its consideration of a similar individual mandate tax, the Senate Finance Committee worked on a bipartisan basis to include language in its bill that shielded Americans from civil and criminal penalties. The Pelosi bill, however, contains no similar language protecting American citizens from civil and criminal tax penalties that could include a $250,000 fine and five years in jail.

“The Senate Finance Committee had the good sense to eliminate the extreme penalty of incarceration. Speaker Pelosi’s decision to leave in the jail time provision is a threat to every family who cannot afford the $15,000 premium her plan creates. Fortunately, Republicans have an alternative that will lower health insurance costs without raising taxes or cutting Medicare,” said Camp.

According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under the Speaker’s bill would cost $15,000 in 2016.

First, I would like to thank you for your efforts to address the problems we have with our government. I am thankful for every single person who is paying attention to what is going on. I am sending you this message to ask for your help. I have set up a website for two reasons. First, to educate those who are not aware of some of the issues we are faced with, and second....most importantly..to offer a solution which will allow us to correct ALL the problems we have with government and not just one or two. The web site is www.americanvote.info. I have included an article on health care, one on cap and trade, and the solution is in the Manifesto. The critical news contains recent updates and additional areas of concern. I would suggest the articles be read in that order for continuity. My request is that you read it over and, if you agree with me, that you send the web address to anyone...family, friends, anyone who is a concerned citizen. If you can help get the link out via twitter, facebook, myspace or any other communication site it will help greatly. I am trying to get this to as many people as possible as soon as possible. All of us need to act or I fear it could be too late by the time we wake up enough people to what is going on. I must point out that the cap and trade article appears to be getting skipped by some readers. That is a mistake because it contains a "wealth" of info on what we are up against and who is behind it. To fully understand the importance of the solution outlined in the manifesto you need to read that first. I thank you in advance for your time. My best wishes for you and the future of the country we love. Paul
ps. I have now added three new articles and again they are best read in order, as I write with the presumption you understand what I have explained in previous articles....new: "State of the Union", "Regarding Liberty" and "Their Plan". I also added the mission statement to make it clear what VOA intends. I have been told by those who have read the entire site that I have understated the importance of what is posted. I will let you be the judge of that. It is a rather long read, but it is loaded. I would appreciate you comments. You can sign the guestbook on the site or you can message me here. I listed a new article today. It is titled...JOHN GALT ..it is written to the liberal minded. And..I would welcome your feedback on the site.Best regards, Paul

Hello friends:

Teri pointed me in your direction...and I thought I'd introduce my self.

I'm a commercial director and film producer working on "The Blackboard Exodus: The Roots and Rise of American Independent (home & charter) Education."

In fact it is t two part project: One is a stand alone film. The other is a video blog/website where I interview parents/guardians about their (home or charter) school experience.

It is based on the old educational addage "each one, teach one" except that now, people in california can hear the stories of people in Iowa. I call it "solution driven programming." I might interview a person for an hour, but each clip/story is individually cataloged and can be cross referenced by someone visiting the site.

Lets say some parents in a busy boy, and the school system wants to put him on Ridalin. Those parents may not want to talk to their friends about drugging their child---so they can search our web site and see interviews with people who faced the same problem. In turn, just by sharing their experiences, people can help others out there, just by using the internet.

In a sense, it is education in its simplest form: People sharing what they've learned so that others so avoid their mistakes.

I am based in Nashville, and am I'm looking for anyone who will sit down and talk about their experiences.

I have toyed with the idea of putting featured clips of SGP people on the SGP site once a week---they can see the fruit of SGP efforts around the country.

My goal is to serve parents who are opting out of government schools. Please know that you are welcome to suggest, opine, connect and warn me of things you consider worthwhile. Tell me what you need and we'll make it happen!

I look forward to sharing the adventure with you.
