I've always gotten responses from Sessions and Shelby, although like Brenda, Shelby's answers mostly justify his vote. I've used the Open Congress site most recently as it directs you to the senator or reps website.

Betty, I've gotten responses from Shelby when I sent hard copy letters to his office, but not from Sessions. The responses I got from Shelby were certainly not to my liking, though. He more or less said thanks for the input but he would continuing doing things his way. Of course, he justified his way, blada, blada, blada. But I keep writing and calling. I don't either are very responsive to their constituents.

I contacted both Senator Shelby and Session this fall using their web page forms and got standard form letters back. I have contacted them two or three other times with the same result.

Brenda, neither Sessions nor Shelby will answer emails sent to their email addresses. You will get an automated response from each stating that you should write them on their web page forms if you want an answer. However, if you wish to use their email addresses, here they are:

I need email addresses for Sen Sessions and Shelby..........Lord knows i have them somewhere, but i have so much stuff i can't find them!! Thanks in advance for the help!!!

Oh well. Really I wasn't that concerned about a signed copy of the book. I mean, I can read the book without a signature. I mainly wanted to meet her and give her a thank you card. She was (well, is) an inspiration to me...her and Michelle Bachmann made me feel empowered in taking the step to run for office. I could go and see if someone who has a pink bracelet will give her the card for me. I guess I will make that decision in the morning, since I won't need to be in a rush to get down there now.

I'm so sorry Denel. They should have been very explicit about how you could get in to see Sarah. Is there a chance she'll be doing a book signing some other place nearby where you could maybe have a second chance to see her?

Well, I am ticked! I really, really wanted to meet Sarah Palin tomorrow! I got three different answers about the book signing. One answer said that you had to get the book today for the signing tomorrow. But then the website said you couldn't get the book until tomorrow at 11am, and had to get it then to get it signed by Sarah. I just read a news story about Huckabee being at the same store today for his book signing, and that there were 1800 people there to get one of the 1000 wrist bands available for Sarah's book signing tomorrow! So, now I won't get to meet her! UGH!!!
